“Darling I don’t know why I go to extremes. Too high or too low their ain’t no in-betweens. And if i stumble or fall, it’s all or nothing at all. Darling I don’t know why I go to extremes”–Billy Joel

The above lyrics are the best way that I can think to describe myself. All of my life I have been an all-or-nothing kind of girl. When I put my mind to something, I am in it all the way. There is no middle ground. While this has helped me accomplish many things thus far, I am learning that most things in life aren’t black and white—all-or-nothing. Sometimes an extremist mentality can lead to anxiety and burn-out. I’m slowly discovering that the key to a satisfying life is balance! Between the black and the white is grey space where good is good enough and a full life is one that blends healthy living with chasing passion and spending time with those that I love.

So without further a due… Hi there! I’m Janna, the blogger behind Ranting Rose. As a senior nursing student about to enter the “real world”, I am preparing to graduate and hunt for my first reeeaaaal job. I’m a pretty simple, small-town family girl interested in maintaining a healthy lifestyle and learning to take more chances. I love food (first and foremost), country music, exercise, getting inspired and being in good company. Another important fact–I think WAY too much. This blog is my outlet for all the chaos going on in my head. I often find that a jumbled mind flows smoothly into words if only given the chance. Welcome to Ranting Rose!
